작년 10월에 썼던 소셜펀딩에 이은 두번째 글입니다.

당시, 제 고민은 스타트업(초기벤처)를 위한 소셜펀딩(십시일반 투자)의 필요성과 가능성에 대한 것이었습니다.
참고로 전 현재 창립한지 2년이 된 태터앤미디어라는 조그마한 회사의 대표를 맡고 있습니다. 흔히 말하는 스펙이 좋은 사람도 아니고, 창업 경력도 없고 게다가 개발자 출신이라 경영에 대해 무지합니다.^^
전 운좋게도 3번의 창업경험이 있는 분의 도움을 많이 받았고 외부에서 많이 도와주셔서 어렵게나마 회사를 운영해오고 있습니다. 아마도 제가 사업을 하는데 가장 큰 도움은 밖에서 잔소리(?)를 해주신 분들이 아닌가 생각합니다. 제가 부족한 부분을 채워주고 생각하지 못했던 부분을 알려주시는 분들이 없었다면 지금의 태터앤미디어는 존재하기 어려웠을 듯 합니다.
제가 고민했던 부분은 제가 사업을 하면서 받았던 이런 도움을 이제 막 창업을 하는 스타트업도 받았다면 어떨까하는 부분입니다. 여기에 엔젤 투자까지 해주면 금상청화구요.
작년의 고민이 이제 조금 발전을 해서 "신생 벤처를 위한 에코시스템"이라는 거창한 프로젝트가 되어가고 있습니다.
공동대표인 그만님이 주도적으로 준비를 하고 있고 벤처스퀘어에 대한 계획을 만들어가는 중입니다.
벤처스퀘어는 한마디로 "초기 벤처를 취재하고 도와주고 알려주고 심지어 투자까지 해주는 일"을 하는 미디어이자 멘토시스템입니다. 즉, 초기 창업자들을 취재해서 그들이 만들고자 하는 서비스를 알려주고 그 서비스가 빨리 자리잡을 수 있도록 조언(잔소리?)를 해주는 프로그램입니다.
이를 위해 '벤처스퀘어'라는 제호의 인터넷신문을 등록할 예정이며, 초기 창업자를 위해 잔소리(?)를 해줄 조언자(멘토)들인 벤처 1세대, 현업 종사자, 벤처캐피털 심사역, 블로거 등 스타트업 기업에 도와줄 의지와 능력을 가진 분들을 찾고 있는 중입니다.
현재 몇 분이 참여의사를 밝히셨고 벤처스퀘어의 부족한 부분에 대한 아이디어를 내주셔서 프로그램이 점차 자리를 잡아나가고 있습니다.
올해 태터앤미디어는 벤처스퀘어라는 미디어를 통해 스타트업 기업을 취재하고 정리하고 알려나가는 일을 할 예정입니다. 이것만 가지고 조금 부족하다는 생각이 있었는데, 스타트업에 대한 초기 투자를 고민하시는 분이 계셔서 부족한 부분이 채워져가고 있습니다.
이 글 제목처럼 목마른 사람이 우물을 파는 게 맞다고 봅니다. 한국의 벤처문화, 창업에 대한 우려, 걱정의 목소리가 아닌 벤처에 대해 걱정하고 고민하는 분들과 함께 실행을 해볼 생각입니다.
